We are very excited to announce that Verdes Cannabis has partnered with Ex Novo Brewing Company to bring the community a terpene-infused beer! This February, Ex Novo launches their innovative Hazy Double India Pale Ale, “Bury Me in Smoke”. This one-of-a-kind beer, is infused with a special blend of terpenes from Verdes’ popular “EmergenC” cannabis strain. This beer offers an unparalleled combination of flavors and aromas through the addition of freshly extracted terpenes. This collaboration is an exciting venture in the craft beer industry, combining the expertise of two leading local brands to create an exceptional product for New Mexico’s beer and cannabis enthusiasts.
Â
“Bury Me in Smoke” celebrates the botanical relationship between hops and cannabis, both members of the Cannabaceae family. It features a vibrant hoppy flavor enhanced by a complex terpene profile including Caryophyllene, Linalool, Limonene, Myrcene, and Humulene, along with 13 other terpenes. Terpenes are the compounds that are responsible for the way many plants smell and their addition into this new beer results in a cannabis-free product with a peppery, spicy, lavender, citrusy, fruity, and hoppy aroma and flavor.

Rachael Speegle, CEO of Verdes Cannabis, says, “Partnering with Ex Novo has been an amazing journey. Our shared dedication to quality and community has culminated in this unique offering. We’re excited to present a new dimension of terpene enjoyment through this innovative collaboration.”

Celeste Melchor, Marketing Director at Verdes Cannabis, said, “Understanding that hops and cannabis are close cousins is important to this venture. The relationship between the two plants allows us to explore an array of terpene profiles. ‘Bury Me in Smoke’ boasts a robust hoppy flavor that encapsulates the spicy, floral, citrusy, fruity, and hoppy notes from our unique terpene blend. This beer is more than just a drink; it’s an exploration of flavor and aroma.”

“Bury Me in Smoke” will be available at retail locations across New Mexico and at Ex Novo’s campus in Corrales starting in February.
